Murghy Salan (Chicken with gravy)

Oil 6-8 Tbsp
Green Chilli(es) 2-3 (Sliced thin)
Chicken 1 Chicken, curry pieces washed
Garlic Pod(s)/Cloves 3-4 pieces
Coriander/Cilantaro A handful, washed and chopped up
Ginger Root 1 Inch piece
Onions 2 (Sliced Fine)
Salt 1 tsp. or according to taste
Chilli Powder 1-2 tsp


1 In a blender, add ginger, garlic pieces and 1/2 an onion with a little water. Blend well and set it aside
2 Fry 1 1/2 onion(s) golden brown
3 Add chicken and let it fry for 5 minutes
4 Add the blended paste and the spices
5 Cook a little and then add tomatoes and green chillies
6 Keep cooking on medium-low heat until tomatoes turn mushy
7 Cook for another 10 minutes or so and then turn the heat off
8 Garnish with corander/cilantaro and serve hot with bread
