Murgh Hari Mirch (Chicken with green chillies)

Green Chilli(es) 4 (Cut lengthwise)
Onions 1 bunch (Green onions, chopped thin)
Onions 1 (Red/Purple, sliced thin)
Oil 2 serving spoons
Kaloonji A pinch or so
Tomatoes 1/2 a can (Preferrably Hunt Diced ones)
Garlic 1 tsp. (Paste or chopped)
Ginger 1 tsp. (Paste or chopped)
Chicken Whole (Cut into curry pieces)
Salt 1 tsp
Chilli Powder 1 tsp
Cumin Powder 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp. or a pinch
Coriander Powder 1 tsp
Amchur Powder 1 tsp
Garam Masala - Powder 1 tsp
Garam Masala - Whole A little bit


1 Heat oil in a deep pot on medium heat
2 Add red/purple onion and cook till golden brown
3 Add the green onion and cook till also slightly brown
4 Add kaloonji, garam masala whole and continue cooking
5 Add green chillies and cook till mixed with the onion
6 Add tomatoes and cook till somewhat mushy
7 Add ginger and garlic and continue cooking
8 Add chicken, stir and mix
9 Add all the spices and mix well
10 Let it cook for 1/2 an hour to 45 minutes
11 Lower the heat, cover and cook for another 5 minutes
12 Serve with Naan, chappatti or even any kind of rice
